oh happy day!

Okay folks, here it is... late post tonight and man, has it been a busy day...
Started out the day snagging some awesome home decor magazines at Half Price Books for just a couple bucks - why subscribe/pay news stand price when you can get them for $1.98 after someone turns them in?  Or how about for 50 freaking cents if they're two months old?! That's right, 50 cents, and I do not mind reading a magazine that is two months old.
I had a billion and one things going on at work today. It was just one thing, after another, after another... you get the picture, it was just one of those days;
Stopped in at Archivers at lunch time to get some supplies for a nursery project (more on that tomorrow) and walked out with some of the cutest paper ever. And so many good ideas for future projects;
Momma (aka G-Mom) stopped by my work and we talked about Mason and how huge I am (more like, how huge he is) and family and other stuff for a bit;
Went to Babies R Us with the mother-in-law (aka Nana) and ordered Mason's crib and dresser/changing table combo... now I just have to be super patient (which I am NOT) for "up to 14 days" and wait for them to come in from the warehouse. They look like this, except we'll have our cute boyish turtle bedding in there:

 Had a delicious dinner with some of Hubs' family - where the first thing one of the cousins (who we haven't really seen since before we went on vacation) says yells is "OH MY GOD! LOOK HOW BIG YOU ARE!" in regards to my ever-so-rapidly growing baby belly. Yes, I know he's huge;
Came home from dinner and started working on said project, yay! I promise, I'll fill you in on the good details tomorrow.

And now it's bedtime, because we have a baby doctor appointment tomorrow morning. Where hopefully they will tell me that my actual due date is something like October 24th or something around there.

wall art is addicting...

I have been searching and searching for not only ideas for how to tie in the alphabet in the nursery, but for different kinds of wall art. Actually, not really searching, more like, drooling over all the awesome things I would love to do, but it's not really practical to have a billion things on your wall. But...it's official. I have finally figured out how to put the alphabet on the wall. I've found my inspiration and decided to run with it (until I change my mind like... tomorrow?):
I know! It's fabulous, right? I found this on Etsy while trolling for alphabet ideas. Except it's over 200 flippin dollars. That is just too too much. And I know that I can make that for less.

And how cute is this little turtle? So adorable, I might just have to buy one to go along with our turtle theme. I love his little top hat... and, wait, is that a monocle? OMG.
 ModernPOP art on sale at http://www.zulily.com/

I know it's slightly over-used now, I mean, practically everybody is putting tree decals in their babies' rooms, but I love love LOVE LOVE this tree... the colors match M's bedding perfectly and the leave are so stinkin' cute! What to do, what to dooooo...

Well I guess for today, I'm just going to search for my fonts that I want to use for each letter of the alphabet. And drool some more over all the awesome wall ideas I have now for the rest of the house.

oh pregnancy...

I have officially gotten to the point in pregnancy where I am miserable all day, every day. I hear you saying, "Silly girl, you still have three more months of this!" to which I respond, "Oh dear, I know. *sad face* I knooooowwwwww." I don't sleep anymore, I feel like a zombie when I wake up and driving to work is scary sometimes because all I want to do is just close my eyes. I can't breath out of my nose... heck, this monster baby has been squishing my lungs for so long now, I don't remember what it's like to take a big, deep breath (regardless of whether it comes out of my nose OR my mouth!). Everything hurts; especially my back, my hips, my ribs, and oh my abdominal muscle hate me every time I sneeze or cough... or breathe, for that matter. And my feet? Ugh. They start to hurt now after about ten seconds of standing on them. Lucky me, I can sit down and still get most of my job done while in said sitting position. And this little boy of mine still has three more months of growing and weight gaining to do. I don't mind the kicking so much anymore, actually, it's rather humorous to lay in bed at night and pull up my shirt and watch him dance around in there. It's one of my favorite things to do now =D

On a silly, cute side note, baby M totally recognizes his daddy's voice. In the midst of all the painting craziness last week, I plopped down on the couch while waiting for a coat to dry. M started kicking as soon as I laid down (mad, I suppose, that I had quit moving) but settled down after a couple minutes. So, about 15 minutes of closed-eye resting go by when Hubs walks into the room, asking one of the cats "Where is your mommy at? (at which point he sees me laying on the couch and says) Oh! There she is! What's baby mommy doing?" To which baby M is thinking, "Oh! That's my daddy!! I hear my daddy!!" and started kicking like crazy. So stinking cute. Look, he's not even here yet, and he's making mommy smile because of something cute he did. That made my day.

Anyways, back on track here.... I'm feeling miserable but I'm just glad that I have things to keep me busy and to look forward to for the next three months or so. Like all the cute nursery stuff I need to get done. Which is exciting because I want to make a lot of it. Like some really cute black and white cards like these from Wee Gallery to put near his crib to help stimulate eye development (because the contrast is good for a babies' eyes to focus on):

And then I saw this absolutely adorable alphabet garland (on Etsy) for little boys and was totally inspired to make my own (cause I'm crafty like that):

And then I just typed something like "alphabet card" in Etsy and came up with all these splendid ideas:
 How cute would it be to make one of these adorable fabric pennant strings to match his nursery colors? I've seen a couple how-to's on paper ones, but fabric would be so cute, too!

And what are the odds that this personalized alphabet name listing happens to say Mason?!?! OMG.

Last, but definitely not least, this clever little take on an alphabet print is to die for. I have been contemplating just painting his name on the wall above his crib, but something like this would oh so much cuter, and educational to boot!

But that's all the nursery fun for now. I know it's only Monday and I don't have much to do here, but I suppose I should probably get back to work.

Ta Da!

Breaking news.... the nursery is painted! Done. Complete. Finished. Hecho. Finito. Thank goodness.

Hiccups...

So, I was bad and didn't post last night. It was a busy day, and a late night, for sure. As I am writing this, Mason is hiccup-bouncing all around... or maybe he's just excited. We got the green on the walls! Although, I have lots of little spots to touch up on the white band due to leakage at the paint edge.... which I am not too thrilled about. I thought that $12 roll of 3M "edge-lock" painters tape was supposed to prevent that?! Oh well, I goofed a little green on the white myself, so I'm gonna have to get the white out anyways. But now we're off to get the blue up on the walls!
I'll leave you with our progress so far:
And I promise to post again tonight with our (hopefully) finished walls!
